About Us
We understand exactly how critical a single tool or a full heavy maintenance kit can be to a multi-million-pound operation.
Aldertools Ltd was founded by Jonathan Terrance Alderton, he has spent well over 20 years working in the gas turbine industry. Starting his career as an apprentice at Wood Group, Jonathan climbed through the ranks to become the Testbed Supervisor at Alba Power.
Having spent two decades on the shop floor, he learned first-hand that having the correct, high-integrity tooling is a fundamental factor in ensuring an engine passes test and returns onsite promptly.
He knows that in this industry, a missing or poorly calibrated tool doesn't just delay an engine—it risks component misalignment, failed tests and catastrophic downtime.
Today, AlderTools leverages that lifetime of hands-on expertise alongside an extensive global network of highly trained gas turbine technicians and certified fabricators. We utilize this deep industry connection to select, source, and verify every piece of tooling we supply. When you work with AlderTools, you are working with an expert company who knows the exact operational stakes of your project and fully appreciates what quality tooling can bring.

The Critical Role of Precision: Why Tooling Quality Dictates Performance
Industrial gas turbines are exceptionally complex, hyper-precise thermal machines operating under immense centrifugal forces and sub-millimetre tolerances. Within this architectural environment, the quality of your service & maintenance tooling is absolutely critical.
Every puller, torque multiplier, alignment mandrel and adapter sleeve must be fabricated from exact structural metallurgies to prevent material flexing; machined to perfect dimensional specifications. During service and maintenance the slightest structural discrepancy can compromise an entire engine. Using a tool with a dimensional error of just fractions of a millimetre can misalign a casing component, scuff a hydrodynamic bearing journal or pinch a critical internal O-ring.
These misalignments can lead to catastrophic imbalances, excessive dynamic vibration, thermal oil leaks, localised hot gas friction rubs... A single substandard tool could cause your gas generator to fail its performance cell tests, require extensive strip-downs, ultimately compounding operational losses.
Eliminating Risk through Certified Precision
At Aldertools, we eliminate these risks by leading the industry with an uncompromising threshold for quality. Because protecting the structural integrity of your engine is our highest priority, we operate with a strict Zero-Defect Commitment:
-
OEM-Equivalent Precision: Every single component is guaranteed to meet identical original Rolls-Royce standard dimensional profiles and manufacturing tolerances, ensuring seamless installation and exact fit.
-
Certified Sourcing Paths: We work exclusively alongside accredited global engineering suppliers and fully verified, certified pre-owned tooling pipelines.
-
Fully Traceable Pedigree: Every tool features verified geometric calibration, exact stress-testing profiles and authorised material certificates.
