Aldertools is a specialist supplier of gas turbine maintenance tooling, supporting operators, maintenance teams and service organisations across engine service, maintenance and overhaul.
With a focus on Rolls-Royce Avon, RB211 and Olympus gas turbines, we help customers identify, source and supply the specialist tooling required for individual tasks and complete workscopes.
Our approach is built around practical industry experience, technical understanding and a clear focus on providing the appropriate tooling for the work being undertaken.
Industry Experience
Aldertools was founded by Jonathan Terrance Alderton, whose career in the gas turbine industry spans more than 20 years.
Jonathan began his career as an apprentice with Wood Group before progressing through the industry to become Testbed Supervisor at Alba Power. His experience across workshop, testbed and engine maintenance environments provided first-hand insight into the importance of having the appropriate tooling available when it is required.
That experience continues to shape the way Aldertools operates today. We combine practical industry knowledge with an established network of engineering manufacturers, tooling suppliers and gas turbine specialists to help customers identify and source the equipment required for their maintenance work.
Our experience is grounded in the work itself — and in understanding the importance of having the right tooling available when it matters.
Quality & Engineering Approach
The tooling supplied for a maintenance task needs to be appropriate to the engine, application and workscope.
Aldertools takes a proportionate, requirement-led approach to tooling quality, considering the type of equipment, its condition, intended use and any customer-specific requirements.
From new specialist tooling to traceable pre-owned equipment, we work with established suppliers and inspection partners to source tooling with the appropriate level of identification, inspection and supporting documentation.

Andy McClare
With over 45 years of distinguished leadership spanning aerospace propulsion and industrial gas turbines, Andrew McClare serves as our Senior Technical Support Specialist. Andrew’s career combines rigorous technical authority with executive oversight, having led operations, quality management, customer support, and business development across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and the Caribbean.

Throughout his career, Andrew has been a trusted partner for major global energy and power-generation customers. His technical leadership has driven international business expansion and field service excellence in high-stakes environments. Notably, he pioneered the establishment of turbine repair and overhaul operations in both the US and Venezuela, while directing critical service centre networks across the Americas.
